As well as having success with both long-term, open-ended ventures and single-project entities, Matcon has financed and completed land development projects with several clients. Our unique joint venture agreements with the First Nations coincide with the Matcon tradition of continually reinventing ways to build relationships in business and the community. To date we have undertaken several successful joint ventures with local First Nations, the most comprehensive being the TFN Construction / Matcon Civil Joint Venture (TMJV) and the Ravcon Civil Joint Venture. Focused on site preparation, land remediation, heavy road construction, and underground utility installations, our long-standing partnership with KFN Enterprises leverages the experience of Matcon Civil as industry leaders in heavy civil construction. KFN Enterprises, which is wholly owned by the Kwikwetlem First Nation, is responsible for creating opportunities for KFN Members that are environmentally, socially, culturally, and economically sustainable.

With offices in Toronto, Ottawa and now here with us in Langley, Milestone brings the Matcon Group of Companies additional capacity in soil and groundwater remediation, passive reactive barrier walls, groundwater cut-off walls (soil-bentonite, cement, concrete), lagoon and pond remediation, remedial excavation with shoring or underpinning, soil stabilization, in-situ remediation using electric resistive heating, water treatment, landfill closure and capping, mine reclamation, design-build remediation contracting.
Our partnership with Ocean Marker Sport Surfaces Ltd. has solidified our role as the largest constructor of park and recreational facilities in the lower mainland and the largest installer of synthetic sport surfaces in Western Canada.
Established in 2013, Ravcon is a partnering of Matcon Civil Constructors Inc. and Raven Contracting, a Tsawwassen First Nation Member-owend heavy equipment-operating business specializing in civil construction earthworks. Ravcon is currently focused on the first phase of a 300 lot residential development at Tsawwassen First Nation.
Established in 2008, TMJV is a partnering that specializes in all aspects of civil construction and environmental contracting. In its first five years, TMJV has secured over $45,000,000 in contracts, generating significant economic benefits for TFN Members through paid wages and the contracting of TFN Member-owned businesses. TMJV manages what is currently the largest structural preload project in the Lower Mainland at Tsawwassen First Nation. Additional works at Tsawwassen First Nation include the filing, placing and compacting of approximately 400 acres of the First Nations Treaty lands for the future industrial development that will provide invaluable long term economic and employment opportunities for the community.
Our joint venture with Tsliel-Watuth and YMC was formed in 2003 to complete the Sapperton Landing regional park designed to feature the beauty and power of the mighty Fraser River, the park’s environmental design includes backwater tidal channels and riparian woodland filled with native plants, creating complex salmon and wildlife habitat.
